OBEYING WISDOM
The enemy is not afraid to go after those who are strong in the WISDOM of God. You will never get to the point that you no longer need to come to God and say humbly, "God, I don't know what to do." You will never get to the point that you no longer need to ask God for WISDOM. WISDOM will always be a choice you NEED to make. WISDOM WILL ALWAYS TAKE COURAGE. WISDOM will always be a matter of DOING as much as a matter of KNOWING.
WHEN SHOULD YOU OBEY WISDOM?
Prov 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so.
28 Do not say to your neighbor, "Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it," when you have it with you.
29 Do not devise evil against your neighbor, For he dwells by you for safety's sake.
30 Do not strive with a man without cause, If he has done you no harm.
31 Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways; (NKJV)
In other words, DO what you know to do IMMEDIATELY upon knowing! OBEY WISDOM RIGHT AWAY. If you know it's wrong, take action RIGHT NOW to set it right. If you know it's right, take action on it RIGHT NOW! Don't put it off. Don't ignore it. Don't wait for "the right time" - which generally will never come again, because the right time is NOW. When you know to do something, when you know you have the WISDOM of God on a matter, ACT on that knowledge immediately. Jesus taught,
Mat 5:29 "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
30 "And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. (NKJV)
Jesus wasn't talking about physical destruction. He was talking about taking action on what you know to be right and wrong. He was saying if there's something in your life causing you to sin, GET RID OF IT. There's an urgency to His command.
You don't have to hold a conference about it.
You don't have to ponder long and hard about it.
You don't have to get into a debate over it.
Cut it off. And cast it away.
In other words, STOP IT! When the Lord reveals to you - as you are seeking His WISDOM - that there is something in your life that you need to stop doing, STOP DOING IT! RIGHT NOW. IMMEDIATELY. DON'T WAIT. Quit it & be done with it.
Furthermore, STOP doing it definitively. That's what casting it away means. It means that you don't go back to it. You cut it off forever. Consider the statements of Jesus. Once you pluck out an eye, you can't stitch it back into place. Once you cut off a hand, it's gone. That's the way we are to be about sin in our lives as the Lord reveals it to us. We are to CUT IT OFF in a way that it never reattaches itself to us again.
If you know that you need to be doing something.....DO IT NOW. If you know that you need to fix something.....FIX IT NOW. If you know that you've got to get rid of something.....GET RID OF IT NOW.
The main reason most people are in trouble today is because they WAIT before they take action on the knowledge they have. You should eat right, exercise, get rest, don't overuse your credit cards and etc. People generally KNOW. They just don't DO.
One of the key ingredients of DOING is to do it NOW. Today. Not tomorrow. One of the worst spirits that dominates most Christians is the spirit of procrastination. That spirit keeps them from living in the full blessings of God.
MAKE A LIST OF THINGS YOU KNOW YOU NEED TO DO.
